Attention: For Sale By Owners!
More than half For Sale By Owner (FSBO) said that they would hire a Realtor® the next time they sold.
Many FSBO s don’t fully realize that the time, paperwork and everyday responsibilities involved were not worth the amount of money they saved in commissions. The financial savings were even more disappointing. Most realize that they would have been better off having a Realtor® handling all the details of their sale and not having to worry about the fees they incurred in dealing with appraisers, inspectors, title lawyers, escrow and loan officers, marketing, and advertising.
Not to mention thinking about:
- Can I write and pay for newspaper, television and internet advertising with photos to get prospective buyers to phone and see my home?
- Am I willing to answer the phone at all hours of the day and night?
- Am I willing to show my home only on the weekends or anytime of the day or evening?
- Can I take time off from work to show my home to an anxious out of town buyer who can't wait until Saturday or Sunday?
- Am I able to conduct open houses on the weekend?
- Do I have the time, energy, information and contacts to do the job myself?
- Will I sell my home for more if I have a Realtor® involved?
Selling a home requires a great understanding of the real estate market and how to properly market your home. If the property is priced too high, it will sit and develop a reputation for being a problem property. If the property is priced too low, you will cost yourself serious money.
